the start

I am Molly Ames, a 17 year old student studying at Hills Road Sixth Form College, and this is a blog about my media coursework and the progress that I make on it.

I have been given the task to complete a cross-media production for a new television programme in either a factual or fictional genre, or subgenre/hybrid, of my choice. One part is to create an audio-visual sequence from a television programme, and the other to write associated print materials to promote the same programme. This should all be fit for a mainstream commercial broadcaster, either ITV or Channel 5, targeting an audience of 18-35 year old 'millennials'.

The audio visual sequence should include either a key turning point, a point of significant conflict or a resolution in the narrative/structure of my new television programme. The length should be no less than 2 minutes 30 seconds, and no more than 3 minutes.

The print text task is to create a front cover and double page spread feature article, so 3 pages in total, to publicise my television programme, in a new lifestyle magazine.

I must complete this cross-media production individually, whilst applying my knowledge and understanding of the theoretical framework, including media language and representations.
